Seeing as I have been missing for two weeks thought I really should put pen to paper (so to speak) and write a few lines. To misquote Arkwright from Open All Hours, it's been a funny two weeks.
Nothing to report from the canalside itself as I have hardly been out there, poor swans have only been fed a couple of times by me, but they aren't exactly starving especially this week being half term.
We have only walked along the canal towpath once down to the village post office, but did walk around Hawley Lake in Berkshire, just 15 minutes away in the car. That made a change and was very popular with families and dog walkers. A perfect venue to take the bikes too, nice wide paths.
Most of the past fortnight has been taken up by the latest arrival in the family. Firstly waiting for daughter to go into labour and then the anxiety of waiting for baby to be born, then rushing to the shops for cards and flowers and driving for an hour to the hospital to meet our new grandson.
Even that was now 10 days ago and those days seem to have been totally filled up and I've not been able to spend time on the laptop. I even wrote the few lines above 3 days ago and never got around to finishing off, so I am going to post these few lines now to prove that I haven't gone missing completely and hopefully will put a proper post plus photos on before the week has ended.
Bye for now
A grandmothers life's a busy one,lol.
ReplyDeleteYou'll have those swans tapping on your door for a morsel to eat.

It is isn't it, just as well they aren't living in the same town LOL.
ReplyDeleteYou are probably quite right about the swans though, they do climb into next doors garden and were getting quite stroppy with Pete (the owner) who they don't like for some reason.
A couple of years ago in Spring time, every time I went to hang washing out, I found a mother duck and her ducklings waddling behind me. They climbed up the bank as soon as I was spotted.
