Thought that I would waffle for a short while.  The heron was back today, not too happy with the idea of him hanging out so close to my pond, but on the other hand he can wade in the canal from where he has been perching, so hopefully he will fill his boots and not bother my golden friends.

Had another pest on the canalside today though.  A two legged human variety this time.   I went through the back door to put my second load of washing out and could smell smoke.  Heron on bbq my first thought,  but no,  someone in the next street had a bonfire.  I don't know what he was burning but it kept making loud popping noises and smoke everywhere.  Grrrrrrr  it is Monday,  sunny weather,  wash day.

To pick up on Forrie's commnet on what one might find in the canal.  Know there is at least one pair of glasses lost when owner leant over the side of their boat to check out the engine,  no names mentioned.  Luckily not prescription specs,  just run of the mill ones from the £1 shop.  Believe a pair of sunglasses were lost by a family member from a canoe too.

Item that weren't dropped in by mistake though have a wide range.  We used to get supermarket trolleys,  but the pound coin in the slot has stopped that.  The odd traffic bollard, also not lately, and neighbour pulled out a kids pedal car a couple of months ago!!

Anyway must go, be back soon.

  1. I know just what you mean.........conditions are just right for drying the washing, and after days of rain, mist and damp weather, there's a beautiful breeze and the sun is out........and some horrible person lights a bonfire........you feel like going round and throwing a bucket of water over them and their stinky bonfire.......rant over!
